FWIW my VPS only allows one reverse pointer. I host multiple domains so only
one reverse pointer will match. My mail does not get bounced for that.
And before someone posts you can have more than one reverse pointer per IP the
VPS (Digital Ocean) says it can't be done.
Multiple PTR records for a single IP are entirely possible - *if* the
DNS management tool allows. If DO says they "can't", it's a limitation
of their DNS management tool.
It's usually not worth the effort, and may cause more problems that it
solves. Just set the PTR to the system's fully-qualified hostname and
all but the pickiest of third-party mail systems will be happy.
