Hi All, I need some assistance to identify why Postfix keeps dying? It's happened twice in the space of a few days.
*\\ When the issue occurs, we don't get the usual 220 greeting from the Mail Server.* root@cllxprmgtsmtp01:~# telnet localhost 25 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost.localdomain (127.0.0.1). Escape character is '^]'. *\\ After we stop/start Postfix, mail starts working again and we get the 220 greeting.* root@cllxprmgtsmtp01:~# telnet localhost 25 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost.localdomain (127.0.0.1). Escape character is '^]'. 220 smtp-cl.cloud.telstra.com ESMTP *\\ We seem to have stopped receiving mail around from 8.37am onwards. * *At 9.34am we started seeing the "private/proxymap socket: service dict_proxy_open: Connection timed out" errror messages. Could this be causing postfix to hang?* *At 12.27pm, we stop/started Postfix.* Aug 10 08:35:47 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/smtpd[2186]: disconnect from unknown[10.84.80.110] Aug 10 08:35:47 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/smtp[9319]: E0F3F58063: to=< accou...@xxxxxx.com>, relay=58.162.81.x[58.162.81.x]:25, delay=0.05, delays=0.02/0.01/0/0.02, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (250 2.0.0 Ok: queued as E75165828D) Aug 10 08:35:47 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/qmgr[9525]: E0F3F58063: removed Aug 10 08:37:27 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/anvil[13071]: statistics: max connection rate 1/60s for (smtp:10.96.132.61) at Aug 10 08:33:19 Aug 10 08:37:27 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/anvil[13071]: statistics: max connection count 1 for (smtp:10.96.132.61) at Aug 10 08:33:19 Aug 10 08:37:27 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/anvil[13071]: statistics: max cache size 1 at Aug 10 08:33:19 Aug 10 08:37:28 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/scache[9320]: statistics: start interval Aug 10 08:35:17 Aug 10 08:37:28 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/scache[9320]: statistics: domain lookup hits=1 miss=3 success=25% Aug 10 08:37:28 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/scache[9320]: statistics: address lookup hits=0 miss=3 success=0% Aug 10 08:37:28 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/scache[9320]: statistics: max simultaneous domains=1 addresses=1 connection=2 *Aug 10 09:34:15 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/smtpd[7858]: warning: private/proxymap socket: service dict_proxy_open: Connection timed out* *Aug 10 10:34:16 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/smtpd[7858]: warning: private/proxymap socket: service dict_proxy_open: Connection timed out* *Aug 10 11:34:17 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/smtpd[7858]: warning: private/proxymap socket: service dict_proxy_open: Connection timed out* Aug 10 12:27:22 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/postfix-script[13221]: stopping the Postfix mail system Aug 10 12:27:22 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/master[9524]: terminating on signal 15 Aug 10 12:27:26 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/postfix-script[13295]: starting the Postfix mail system Aug 10 12:27:26 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/master[13296]: daemon started -- version 2.6.14, configuration /etc/postfix Aug 10 12:27:26 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/qmgr[13297]: warning: bounce_queue_lifetime is larger than maximal_queue_lifetime - adjusting bounce_queue_lifetime Aug 10 12:27:27 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/smtpd[13301]: connect from unknown[10.84.68.58] Aug 10 12:27:27 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/smtpd[13301]: 2580358063: client=unknown[10.84.68.58] Aug 10 12:27:27 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/smtpd[13303]: connect from unknown[10.84.67.45] Aug 10 12:27:27 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/smtpd[13303]: 2960F58065: client=unknown[10.84.67.45] Aug 10 12:27:27 cllxprmgtsmtp01 postfix/cleanup[13306]: 2580358063: message-id=<19c94ae236014a83ba3269e1f770dfd6@ELECEX01.electrical.local> *\\ Does it have anything to do with this issue also seen in the logs a few mins earlier at 8.34am.* Aug 10 08:34:45 cllxprmgtsmtp01 snmpd[26074]: Connection from UDP: [10.96.132.61]:40387 Aug 10 08:35:13 cllxprmgtsmtp01 lsass: GSS API error calling gss_init_sec_context(): majorStatus = 0x000d0000 (Unspecified GSS failure.
