That won't reduce the peak load that Postfix can present to the
operating system and (virtual) hardware.
As for system configuration, you need to configure for peaks instead
of averages. By reducing Postfix process limits you reduce the
peak load that Postfix can present to the operating system and
(virtual) hardware. You may have to do similar configuration with
other services.
