Though I still think the output could be more informative. Greylisting messages have a much more informative response than just "service is unavailable", which isn't really true. As an example: Recipient address rejected: Greylisted, see http://postgrey.schweikert.ch/help/lists.redwingbooks.com.html That's straight to the point for both the sending and receiving mx admin, and there is no confusion.
