I did what you suggested (turning on the verbose auth logging in Dovecot) and replied about it. Thanked you profusely. It did get Dovecot to log more verbosely, but I haven't seen anything I recognize as the problem. Lots of authentication fails, but they all stopped when I turned off the net monitors. The odd auth.log entries were the same. (No missing sender IPs, though.) > , or simply > get on-topic and ask on the dovecot mailinglist...
