Naturally also post the Postfix table definition, which will indicate
whether you're using simple or SASL binds. If possible try both,
and report any difference in behaviour, since as you know the SASL
bind code is relatively new, perhaps there are subtleties in the
LDAP API that were not taken into account, but I prefer to not
speculate on the likelihood of such an issue with no usable
information.

I thought I also pointed out that the issue goes back to Postfix
2.3 or later with OpenLDAP 2.4 or later. However, nothing older
than 2.5 is supported, and I don't believe that this rises to a
level of criticality that requires re-opening the 2.4 and older
releases.

The issue I fixed today would affect any postfix build with an OpenLDAP API at least as far back as OpenLDAP 2.1. What postfix revisions you fix are entirely up to you of course, and I think reasonably I wouldn't expect you to fix unsupported postfix releases, but it is not limited to the OpenLDAP 2.4 API.
