Stan, the "overall goal" is as described above. Nothing more, nothing less.
Is there a way to do this using IMAP (where emails are stored
centrally)? Or is using virtual users and sending the email to 2 people
the only way forward (Where emails are duplicated)
You've made the same mistake Thomas did recently. Describe the nature
of the problem or need and let us recommend solutions. Don't state
what you think are possible solutions and ask us to pick between, when
we haven't been told what the actual overall goal is.
I don't see the problem in suggesting solutions - it just shows you that
I've "done my homework" and what my current train of thought is. As all
good I.T. guys, I'm always open to other suggestions and constructive
criticism of my suggestions.
Is this a poor man's support desk setup or something else? If the
former, get some real help desk management software or other ticketing
software. You'll be much happier.
No, it's not.
Thanks to everyone else who posted potential solutions. You guys are
right that it's probably more of a Dovecot issue. I guess the dirty fix
would be to get Postfix to direct the mail to 2 mailboxes. Thanks for
the link to Dovecot ACL - mite come in very handy
Many Thanks
