Yes, that's what I've understood too. I'm running postfix 2.6.2 on openSUSE. I have a Thunderbird client sending a mail from 'addre...@example.com' - this goes through the local mailserver which relays _everything_ through a smarthost. The message is at first accepted due to permit_mynetworks, but when it tries to authenticate to the smarthost, the message is rejected as no sasl userid is found for '@example.com'. This produces an ndr, which is also rejected due to lack of authentication, as '<>' doesn't seem to be found in smtp_sasl_password_maps. /Per Jessen, Zürich
