I guess I am being overly cautious since when I set up networks I
always add an MX record for the domain to the mail server.
I never knew that if an A record points to the mail host then you
don't need the MX record for said host.
Should I remove the record?
I wouldn't - but then again, I wouldn't run a mail server on the domain
A record either :)
There are MTAs that want a mail *sender* to have an MX record (which is
silly), but it should never matter.
