Open relay is generally not possible in main.cf alone. This is a pointless idea. An open relay running Postfix became so due to a deliberate administrative action or a poorly-thought-out firewall. Many automated processes exist which detect (and sometimes stop) an open relay. (Specifically I mean spammers' probes and DNSBL spamtrap addresses.) > 2. Appropriate configuration of subsidiary tools e.g policyd This would require an intimate understanding of said tools AND of the site administrator's needs (i.e., to define what constitutes "appropriate configuration.") Can't happen except perhaps in a repackaging of Postfix and other software, such as Zimbra. > 3. The best feature of SWAT, IMO, is the integrated hyperlinking to the Samba project's very excellent documentation, smb.conf.5.html in particular. Postfix is already there, with a nice hyperlinked postconf.5.html . Start at the README level and follow the links. -- Offlist mail to this address is discarded unless "/dev/rob0" or "not-spam" is in Subject: header
