What might be especially useful would be to check, in addition to format 
erros, whether, on the face of it main.cf shows possible:

1. Open Relay
2. Appropriate configuration of subsidiary tools e.g policyd
3. Appropriate command sequences

There are many more such choices.

Alternatively how about be a web based tool (similar to the Samba Web 
Administration Tool (SWAT) which might be called PFixWAT  <chuckles> that 
creates main.cf!!
