Steve, That's not what the users will receive though. They will, probably after 4 hours receive a nicely formatted message from their local MTA that says something like
Message to < j...@domain.tld > has been delayed. We will retry this message again in X hours... And remeber, anthing after that is really up to the local MTA to display. Most should kick out the message that you put in postfix, but I know several domains that have not in the past. So your clients will probably think your email is really just offline. ________________________________________ From: owner-postfix-us...@postfix.org [owner-postfix-us...@postfix.org] On Behalf Of Steve [steve.h...@digitalcertainty.co.uk] Sent: Thursday, June 18, 2009 10:43 AM To: Terry Carmen Cc: postfix users list Subject: Re: Defer All INET I would tend to use a company myself who told me that they valued their staff who start work at 8am and would be available from that time to help. Not that I would have to wait until 9 or 10 am whilst they sorted the previous nights email before they could deal with my request.
