We have been using RHEL / CentOS / Rocky Linux > for decades. Isn't THAT a server-oriented OS?! The evidence suggests that different versions of Rocky Linux have failed an important real-world test. For reference, my Fedora 40 laptop has no problems with these lookups. The OS was installed from scratch, no resolv.conf options needed.
