Questions:
How does the secondary MX know to transport to the primary when it is back
online? (some online “guides” talk about editing transports, but the postfix
documentation does not)
The emails remain in the queue on the backup mx and postfix (in)frequently tries to deliver these
to the most preferred MX exchange destination. What you can do, add a cron job to "mailq
-q" periodically to "speed up" things (if needed - never bothered to check).
