thanks for the suggestion.  i have now tried it.  seems to stop the
garbage earlier, e.g. dnsbl rejection, but not much more effectively.
still getting 5+/hr through to my procmail.  ghu knows for the other
users, but i suspect about the same.

i did not enable Tests After the 220 SMTP Server Greeting as i was
daunted by

    The main limitation of "after 220 greeting" tests is that a new
    client must disconnect after passing these tests (reason: postscreen
    is not a proxy). Then the client must reconnect from the same IP
    address before it can deliver mail

i am gonna need a lot more coffee to understand `postscreen_dnsbl_sites`
enough to take that leap of faith.
