The effect of permissions on UNIX-domain sockets is system dependent
(in other words, not all the world is Linux). This is why Postfix
enforces access permissions with the parent directory.

Programs that directly access Postfix UNIX-domain sockets are NOT
SUPPORTED. These sockets provide an internal interface whose details
have changed over time. I promise that 'direct access' programs
will break without any warning, and that no help will be provided
to fix such programs.

Data collecting programs should use supported interfaces such as
postqueue output. If the supported interfaces are not sufficient,
people can ask for or contribute what's missing.
