Right; this is called a reject, not a bounce.
But that IS of course a Mail that returns to the send - it has the title
"Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender" and contains a message like
"Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table"
Big difference here. The notice mail returned to sender is
generated by the sender's MTA, not yours. Spammers as a
general rule do not use MTAs and don't get these notices.
And, if i understand Gary correctly, he does not what such a mail - just
a silent drop ...

That doesn't make it a good idea. Silently discarding mail to
invalid recipients breaks feedback for legit senders, and does
nothing to slow spammers. There is also some evidence that
such systems are "spam attractors", getting magnitudes more
than their expected share of mail to unknown recipients.
So, it´s valid questions and a valid configuration, IMHO!
IMHO it's a naive question, but we're here to educate.
