I was in the situation, where mail from MY server was rejected by the
server, which is blocked BY ME (with spamhaus). Scenario was: they check
existence of sender email address (technically by doing MAIL FROM and
then RCPT TO), but by server blocked them on the RCPT TO stage, so they
think that sender isn't exist and reject my mail.
So, you can not send anything to such 'checking' servers - they can not
connect to you to check; and, some connections may were same sender
existence check attempts.
And, as the whole - the corellation between connections and (spam)
messages is not so simple, to block spam by blocking connections.
