Hello, we are currently running and have been very happy with, Postfix and a MySQL backend. Along with this we have Courier Pop3, SASL,
Amavis-new, various anti-virua/spam stuff, Mailman and PostfixAdmin.
This provides us with some very good functionality which we would like to
retain.

However, I would like to add a directory service to our server and assume
the logical choice would be OpenLDAP.

Can we integrate OpenLDAP into what we have currently? Or do I have to
switch from MySQL to OpenLDAP as the backend. Ideally we would like to have
replication between OpenLDAP and MySQL.

The map type matters not as long as your Postfix is compiled for that and the map is the expected format.
See 'postconf -m' as to which map types your Postfix supports.

Be sure to test your new map files with 'postconf -q' (see man postconf) before switching as this can save headaches.
