Under 7.3.x, the SBC was capable of doing this. But this is another
feature that's been removed from 7.4.x and from 7.5. The SBC (and
presumably the Radio and the Touch) just don't have the ability to WOL a
previously connected server as the SBC did with 7.3.x.
The ONLY way you'll be able to WOL a server using the SBC and 7.4.x is
if you find a WOL applet that will do the job. Otherwise, this facility
appears to have been written out of the jive firmware.
There just isn't anything that SrvrPowerCtrl can do about this and it
makes no difference if you've pushed a player to MSB via SrvrPowerCtrl,
SCCLITool.exe, or whathaveyou. The SBC just can't do this anymore.
Your options are:
- File an enhancement bug request and hope that, some years in the
future after the dust from 7.4, 7.5 and 8.0 has settled, a jive
developer might add this feature back to the SqueezePlay code.
- Buy an iPod Touch and purchase iPeng from the iTunes app store for
$10. iPeng still performs this function perfectly, as far as I know.
This is yet another reason why I'll be sticking with 7.3.4 on my own
server for the foreseeable future.
