I have been trying waveinput 1.02 with SC 7.2 release to stream the real CD player to duet receiver in kitchen. (Don't ask - it is wife related - nuff said!) The CD player is plugged into my tranquil whs server. It works - sort of. The sound will play Ok for a few seconds and then stutter and carry on - occasionaly it will stop for 2-3 seconds and carry on. I have increased the buffering on waveincmd (both no of buffers and size of buffers and proved that has the expected effect (by delaying the CD pause/start) - but it still stutters. If I try and sync two players (transporter and duet) to it - it will work for a few seconds and then finish up with one or other player stopped. It is streaming flac.
Had this worked I was going to get a spdif to uSB converter on the whs server to get the best possible sound quality - but I don't want to spend on something that may never work. Has anyone any ideas to try? (At the time of doing the test the whs server was idle - not streaming or backing up and there were two logins - the console and one RDP client - though both actually idle.)
