I added the picore-setup.sh script specifically for users running on picoreplayer on the raspberry pi. This is because the setup is more complex there as the all the system folders are loaded into memory at startup and get wiped each time, which means the preferences and executables would be wiped. It is not intended for use on a regular Linux setup.
And yes the .1 files are duplicates - good spot, I hadn't noticed this myself.
