I've wanted to like and use Fedora many times. But I'm I have an unfavorable opinion of RPM based distros. I find their package mgmt systems a bit trickier to work with. I wanted to like OpenSuse too as a lot of people spoke highly of it too. But I never could get either of them work as smoothly and painlessly as Debian. Fedora on my T60 performed horrendously. It wouldn't boot, it would lock up, it was really slow. OpenSuse worked better, but if memory serves I had some difficulties installing and running some apps that I commonly use like Synergy and a few others. It's interesting to me the wide disparity of functionality / performance differences between distros on the same hardware. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
