We've tried it on CentOS 4 and were able to make it work - both Smart Bro
directly connected to the PC and using an access point.  For the former, you
need to configure linux to get IP via DHCP.  For the latter, the access
point gets its IP from Smart Bro and the PC can either get its IP from
access point or have a permanent one configured.

It's pretty straightforward, I'm confident it will work using other distros
(note, this is not an endorsement of Smart Bro =) ).
