Hi,
Few points which might help you:
1. 845 is horrible.
2. Please dont use FCs or any other bleeding edge
things. Use stable things. Correct me if I am wrong.
3. Use win98se to check the h/w. I mean if win98se
crashes always after a clean OS install and additional
software installs, then the prob is definitly w/ h/w -
generally with ram. After owning 4 computers right
from 486, I can definitly say this.
My 98se was rock solid for 4+ years (before the
lycoris messing my partitions.) that too with my
horrible programming skills in VC++ ;).
4. Dont use pirated 98se - if you are using such.
Maybe the files are corrupt.
5. Dont use IE 5.5 - if you are using - which is v.
unstable (It cant even handle the submit event
properly.)
6. Always use a good AV and a good firewall to keep
your system clean.
A thumb rule - Use 98se OS and all non MS softwares on
top of it. I use OO 1.1.1, FF, OE 5.0 (to use hotmail
and lycos).
