Of course that's not a problem for contribs, and I used EXTVERSION in a previous version of the patch. I guess I will get back to use $(EXTVERSION) in the Makefile next time I have to produce a patch. This part of the problem didn't receive much thoughts yet, and it shows up. About the rest of the patch have been in my head for months, I expect less problems there...
