Hi Phil are you the Phil I spoke to about amazon ec2 at the last LUG meet,
If so i signed up and opened a ubuntu server the next time I tried to open an
instance no luck I have found other people have had trouble with linux server
on Amazon what I wanted to try and do was setup an instance to run ubuntu
server and be able to run software like libre office , gimp inkscape as a trial
for work. I couldn't work out how to load software onto server I understand it
would be easier on Linux due to open source as against Microsoft licensing. but
I coudnt find tutorials on how to load packages, any pointer would be greatly
appreciated.
