I had thought of that but I have 2 Routers & it happens with both of them.
Furthermore the problem appears to be intermittent. I am also getting connected
wirelessly to both of these routers.

There are times when we owe it to ourselves and to the ones around us to share
what we know and feel. And there are times when we simply have nothing to
offer, and best serve everyone by saying nothing. Perhaps the wisdom comes in
being able to recognize the difference.
Peace,
Eron

my computer keeps coming up with the message, 'Network Cable Unplugged'?
I have a workstation/desktop which has 2 HDDs. One with Ubuntu 10 & another
with XP Pro. I plug in whichever one I feel like using. They both show the same
error.
I have searched the Internet & tried all the suggested fixes without success.
No one seems to know what causes the problem. No one seems to be able to fix
the problem. There are 2 network cards in this machine. The error appears on
both. The only solution I have arrived at is leaving it alone, switched on, and
it eventually comes back on of it's own accord. There is nothing wrong with the
cable.

Peace, Eron
It could be the network switch/router the PC is connected to. A friend of mine
had the same issue recently.
He replaced the router - the fault has gone.
