I've switched to running Arch Linux, and have been running Gnome for
about 2 or 3 weeks. Firstly, it was near impossible for me to install
Gnome under Debian or Ubuntu, and when I'd got it, incredibly unstable.
With Arch, it was a few commands, and everything works perfectly.

I was so happy with Gnome3 I even installed it on my EEE PC 900, it was
completely usable too; n.b. Gnome2 and Unity had been near unusable on
the same netbook, so I'm also impressed how much has been optomised in
ver 3.

It does appear that certain apps aren't yet compatible with the new menu
(clutter built I believe), but according to the internet, compatiblity
would only be a friendly developer away.

Overall, I've been very impressed with performance, optomisation, and
ease of use, I found it's flow intuitive (I'm a Linux ony man too - so
only only have experience with Gnome2 to compare). It did seem to lack
any customisation ability (I read a post about not being able to change
desktop backgroun? I was easily able to do that), but actually I don't
really want to change anything yet; perhaps with the exception of a
weather panel app (yes, so I can tell how nice the weather is outside,
whislt I'm stuck in! ;D
