I normally put old PCs on my local Freecycle group. But you have to be
careful - there are a lot of people on there who are out to make
money. Choose the recipient carefully. You don't want to see it ending
up at a car boot, on eBay or a advert in Tesco!

Don't take them to the dump!

Also, you can use a program like Boot and Nuke to erase the hard drive
first. Takes a few hours, but its very secure.
