I would like to ask about the use of the fumigant sulphuryl difluoride to protect cultural heritage in EUROPE!! The agent is used in Germany as VIKANE to protect wood in churches or open-air museums for many years. Also as biocide for other museumpests like moths, beetles or silverfish. But now the effective toxic but environmentally harmful fumigant will lose its authorisation by summer 2024 and can then only be used until 2025 in the EU. If it will not longer supported by experts for the decision of the chemical commission. We German experts would therefore like to find out how frequently it is used in other European countries. For Austria we know, thats in use for churches. Do anyone know about France, Italy, Spain or the Northern countries (SW, NO, FI)?
