Those are not beetles, but rather true bugs (hemiptera). I’m sure others familiar with the fauna in your area can offer a better guess as to the exact kind.

At first, my colleagues and I were concerned that they were carpet beetles, but it now seems they are not. The beetle is approximately 0.5cm in length.
