Audrey, Unfortunately, the link for the Bora-Care label on the site you provided does not work. You will want to look over a label of the actual product before deciding to buy to make sure it is labeled for the intended use. You can view a specimen label at https://nisuscorp.com/download/bora-care?wpdmdl=1389&refresh=623b74584cced1648063576 but it might differ from the label that is on the product itself and you must follow the directions for the product you have in hand. (For example, the product registered here in NY has less uses than the specimen label, so only the uses on the product label would be allowed.)
One thing to keep in mind is the product works only if applied to bare wood; any paint, stain, or other coating that keeps water out will be impermeable to the product. On the plus side, adding a water-resistant finish after treatment will help seal the borate in the wood. --Dan Dan Wixted Extension Support Specialist Cornell Cooperative Extension Pesticide Safety Education Program 135 CALS Surge Facility 525 Tower Road Ithaca, NY 14850 psep.cce.cornell.edu<http://psep.cce.cornell.edu/> dj...@cornell.edu<mailto:dj...@cornell.edu> 607-255-7525 Cornell Cooperative Extension is an equal opportunity, affirmative action educator and employer From: 'Gayou, Audrey' via MuseumPests <pestlist@googlegroups.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 23, 2022 3:06 PM To: pestlist@googlegroups.com Subject: [PestList] Bora-Care Does anyone have experience using Bora-Care to treat wood infested with powderpost beetles? It has been brought up as a suggestion and I have never used it, nor know anyone who has. Is it effective? Safe? Would appreciate any advice.
