Joel,

that sounds good, if the product have an ethylene glycol component to carrier
the product into the cells of the wood. So it could reach the larvae better
than with only water.

Best, Stephan

The efficacy depends on how you mix it and how many unfinished sides of the
wood/timbers you can get at. for active infestation I would have your pest
control operator mix 1:1 ratio(the concentrate is thick thick and needs to be
warmed in warm water and mixed with hot water for a proper mix and final
product spray). In general boric acid based products are some of the safest you
can use. Bora-care does have an ethylene glycol component to it which acts as a
carrier to take the product into the cells of the wood. Not sure of ratio...
maybe the SDS would help. Once it is dry I can't imagine it harming anyone or
anything except wood destroying insects chewing their way out or in. JTV

[CAUTION: This message originated from outside the Foundation. Do not click

Does anyone have experience using Bora-Care to treat wood infested with
powderpost beetles? It has been brought up as a suggestion and I have never
used it, nor know anyone who has. Is it effective? Safe? Would appreciate any
advice. Thanks!
