While Simon Peyton Jones is a storming guy and I appreciate his work a lot, I don't think that C-- is the answer for Perl. C-- doesn't have varargs. Or a decent, fast, portable implementation. And we'd all have to learn C--. It's a good idea, but it really Isn't There Yet. -- All the good ones are taken.
