Good news John!

Moving can be a pain, but also a good forcing function to rethink what you own,
to think about what you really need.

In my early 40’s I was joining a group, the get-to-know-one-another topic was
“how many places have you lived?” I came up with 37 different addresses where I
had lived for at least 3 months! And then we lived in Kansas City for 27 years.
Moving to Michigan, we sold or gave away many things. When our house here was
flooded in 2020, much had to be thrown away, many things went into boxes in
storage waiting, e.g., for the day the kitchen cabinets would be rebuilt. Still
waiting. And we have been able to get by without those things still buried in
storage.

Speaking of storage PODS, one good source in our area is U-Haul. We used their
pods after the flood for temporary storage in our driveway, but if we had been
moving, they could have hauled away the full pods, stored them in a facility
for a day or week or however long, then delivered to the new site. The PODS
company didn’t want to deal with us, we were too far from a metro area, and we
weren’t going to be customers of their transportation services.

Good luck with the closings and all of the details that go with those!

Stan
