Wow is right! Your comment just got me thinking about the possibility of using the helicoid extension tube with a pre-drilled body cap. Infinitely variable focal lengths without the hassle of a bellows, which is bigger, bulkier, and more difficult to "zoom". The helicoid will extend and retract just like focusing a lens. What a nifty idea.
I don't have a clue as to what the view through the finder would be with a pinhole cap in place of the lens, but maybe I'll just drill a tiny hole in a cheap cap just to see the effect.
