OK, if I understand what you're saying, regardless of whether you use a 
lens cap or a body cap, a lens is not used.  Why wouldn't a cap with a 
tiny hole, placed over a lens, work?

TYhanks.  I'll poke around a little.  Calumet has body caps laser drilled for 
pinhole work.
