You could get a ring flash for macro work, but the tend to be rather flat 
in terms of lighting. They are great for medical and forensic work, but you 
can achieve fine results using a regular TTL flash on a bracket.  Track 
down a copy of John Shaw's book called "Closeups in Nature" and look at the 
section on "butterfly brackets." I make my own flash brackets for mackro 
work (out of a few dollars worth of odds and ends from the hardware store).
