There's an old joke:

Guy goes to a psychiatrist.  The doc runs through a series of tests,
ending with a drawing of a vertical line.

Doc: "What is this?"
Man: "Naked woman standing up."
Doc: <draws horizontal line>  "And this?"
Man: "Naked woman lying down."
Doc: <draws zigzag line>  "And this?"
Man: "Naked woman sitting down."
Doc: ...
Doc: "I think your problem is that you are oversexed."
Man: "What are you talking about?!  You're the one drawing the dirty
pictures!"

IOW, even to the extent that I agree with you here, it's still a matter
of socialization more than abstract fact.
