The HN-7 also fits right over the lens when not in use (50/1.2 and 50/1.4).
Why are the hoods designed for most lenses (notice "most") such a joke?
Nikon also makes a HK-4 which is perfect for the VS1 35-85/2.8.  The
Nikon hoods are very, very nice.
