Tiger, You ought to test it. My recollection is that I've had 2 M 28/2.8's with the problem. They do show overexposure.
It's a matter of closing the aperture before the shutter fires. The blades are spring loaded and held wide open while you focus (open aperture metering). When you press the shutter button, the mirror swings up and the lever holding the blades wide open drops down. The blades proceed to close to the aperture you set, based on the spring tension on the blades. The shutter then opens to snap the picture. The problem with stick blades is that the lens doesn't get stopped down soon enough, and is still closing while your shutter is open. It makes your f-stop kind of unreliable. All that said, I paid $25 or $30 for a cleanup. Regards, Bob S. [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: << Today I got my most recetn addition, SMC-M 35mm/2.8, at a great price from Ebay. Its a userable collection, so nothing is suppossed to be pristine, just functional! This is my first lense with what might be called "slow aperature blades". What effect will this have on my pics? I am presuming I might get over exposure, but not sure how much, maybe less than a stop? I can shoot a roll and test, put the lens of f22 and shot all kinds of things.
