There was a time when it was not a myth.
They would mark down imperfections but charge a premium for the like-new.
And when you bought EX or EX+ -- it might as well have been new.
But times have changed.
The current economy doesn't help.
Film stuff is so cheap now ...
At an auction here I saw a Bronica ETRs with 3 lenses sell for $200.
Yesterday @ thrift shop I got a K1000, a CE-4, and 3 lenses for $40.
That was the expensive purchase.
On the cheaper side I got Canonet 28 for $2.99 and a Minox CD 70 for $4.99.
