Years ago I sent in a pretty-good-looking (to me) black MX for rating/sale.

They pointed out things I didn't even notice on the body.  Pretty much offered 
about 1/3 of what I'd hoped to get for it (well, my DAD hoped to get for it - 
it was his).

For the chump change they were offering, he just had them send it back to him.  
Not sure where it is now.  I think he might have sold it directly to someone 
(for far more than KEH was offering).

So... you're quite probably right on target with this summary!

KEH: Good for the buyers, not so great if you're selling (if your goal is 
maximum returns for the sale)
