JCO, With my experience I would rate Konica Impressa 50 the best, closely followed by Fuji Reala for color print films. Impressa seems a bit better at landscapes and Reala has better skin tones.
Color slides I hear the reigning king is Fuji Provia 100F. I haven't compared it much, but that is the word on the street. As for B&W, I am at a loss. The chromogenic films seem to look quite grainless (creamy), but probably lose a bit of sharpness. Perhaps Wheatfield, Shel or Aaron have some good input on that front.
