The thing is, while you're in "Safe Mode" you need to reset the video back to something generic (like 1280 x 800) and reinstall the drivers for your video card, or update them. Booting in "Save Mode (VGA)" won't change anything long-term, it only gets you to a booted system. You still have to sort out whatever's wrong with the video.

That won't work, the DRMS is kicking in. Something in your equipment is deemed by Windows to allow you to make unauthorized copies of protected materials so it won't give you the best output to thwart the attempt.
