With the *ist-D I accumulated 4 -1GB cards, 2 - 2GB cards and 5 - 4GB 
cards.

Be nice if I could have used them with the K-10D instead of having to 
start all over again with a new type of card. And have to keep up with 
two sets of cards since I still use the *ist-D for my backup.

Other than that there's probably no real advantage.
