The first plane hit at about 8:40 am NY (and Toronto) time. The second plane hit at
about 9:05 or 9:10 - I saw it live, and couldn't believe it.
I saw both buildings collapse, and if I remember correctly, one went at about 10 or
10:30, and the second went about 1/2 hour later.
No one knows how many got out, but you're right, many did. NBC news had an
unconfirmed report that up to 20,000 didn't get out - but that's unconfirmed.
Eyewitnes reports of literally dozens jumping to their deaths from the upper floors.
No knowledge of how many were killed/hurt from the falling building.
