Page 33 of UK manual (under Retracting the built -in flash, section 3 of
"Built-In Flash - Smart Flash" ) reads :

"When the shutter release button is pressed halfway down where it is hard to
autofocus, such as in a dark place, the built-in flash discharges
continuously to provide illumination...."

The MZ-7 has the same feature.

I haven't noticed mine turning off the focus confirmation light in this
manner. Certainly I've never had to turn the camera off/on to get it to work
correctly.


I've haven't seen anybody mention that it emits a series of beeps after you
shoot the 30th picture. It got me really worried for the first 3/4 films
before I realised that it always did it after the 30th. Evidently a warning
that you're getting close to the end of the film.
