I don't know, Will. It might be. I know that the major ingredient is carbon,
but I recommend calling the maker of the toner first to be sure that it
doesn't contain other substances which might hurt the coatings. I still
recommend obtaining the carbon black (lamp black, bone black, etc.) from a
calligraphy store. It's not expensive, considering that the smallest bottle
possible will last a lifetime.
